[CLGG] HOG-ST v2 (Muzzleloader)

HOG/ST_V2

HOME

DESIGN: Version 2 of the combustion light-gas gun or HOG-ST (Hydrogen Oxygen Gas - Survival Tool) muzzleloader made of copper and PVC, consisting of a slightly pressurized ~16.4 cubic inch combustion chamber with a 6" x .5" inch barrel.  Oxyhydrogen fuel is generated from a detachable 316 stainless steel 8 plate electrolyzer containing water and KOH (Potassium Hydroxide).  The cell is powered by an attached 9.6 volt lithium battery.  From there, the fuel is fed through the side by side bubbler\scrubber, then passed through a quick-release for detaching the charging base.  From here the fuel travels through a manual ball valve, into a ignition tube and then delivered to the combustion chamber.  This combustion chamber has a specially designed interior so as to maximize the fuel mixtures explosive properties at detonation.  The ball valve must be opened during charging and closed when firing.  Ignition is acheived by way of a disposable lighter piezoelectric generator which creates a spark in the ignition tube.  With a fully charged combustion chamber this design is capable of serious bodly harm or death. 95% of the parts for this project was purchased from local hardware stores.  Should work very well in a survival situation on small to medium prey at a somewhat close range (*Barrel contains no rifling).
